WICHITA, Kan. —

President Donald Trump visited Kansas as sitting president for the first time since 2018.

He's hoping to bring another term for U.S. Sen. Roger Marshall.

Polls show Marshall is in a tight race with Democratic Party nominee Adam Hamilton.

Speak at Heartland Credit Union Arena in Park City, Kansas, Trump made a request to supporters: Pretend he's on the ballot.

"I'm asking you to pretend, please, that I'm on the ballot," Trump told supporters. "Just pretend."

In comments to KMBC before the rally, Marshall said there were as many as 200,000 Kansas voters who vote for Trump, but no other Republican.

A close race for the U.S. Senate in Kansas is rare.

Hamilton is hoping to become the first Democrat elected to the U.S. Senate from Kansas since 1932.

The Cook Political Report has moved the race into its toss-up category.

Trump called Hamilton a "radical left phony" and criticized his positions on immigration, gun rights and transgender issues.

The president also defended Marshall over medical debt collection lawsuits involving his former medical practice. The lawsuits have been subject to multiple political ads on TV. Trump claimed Marshall was legally required to pursue unpaid medical bills, although he offered no evidence supporting that claim.

"You got screwed with that stuff," Trump told Marshall.

Being in Kansas, agriculture issues were another part of Trump's speech.

He announced a new $8 billion harvest fuel relief program to help farmers deal with diesel costs.

He credited Marshall with pushing for the assistance.

Trump also touched on Merck's nearly $1 billion pharmaceutical investment in De Soto and Boeing's $1 billion investment in Wichita.

The president also repeated a promise to send $5,000 to every adult American citizen if Republicans keep control of Congress. Trump said tariffs and economic growth would help pay for the checks.

Kansas' other major statewide race also got some attention during Trump's speech.

Trump backed Republican Ty Masterson in his race for governor against Democrat Cindy Holscher. Masterson received Trump's endorsement during the primary.

Both Masterson and Marshall briefly joined Trump onstage.

The rally also had its share of interruptions. Several hecklers were escorted out as Trump repeatedly accused them of being paid protesters, a claim he made without providing evidence.

Trump later turned his attention to Saturday's tragedy at Wichita's Stryker Sports Complex, where two people were killed and 10 others injured when a truck drove onto a youth soccer field.

"We grieve for the beautiful lives that were lost, and pray for those who were tragically injured," Trump said.

He also offered federal assistance with the investigation if needed.

Staffers across the Windows maker would be eligible for the offers, including those working in AI experiences, Copilot, finance, human resources, Xbox and Windows + Devices, a source familiar with the matter told Reuters, requesting anonymity as the matter was private. Units such as marketing, commercial business and security will be excluded, the source added.

“This offer gives eligible employees who may be considering a future outside the company a new choice to make that transition now with support. It also gives participating organizations another way to adapt their workforce to changing needs,” Chief People Officer Amy Coleman said in a staff memo.

Like other tech giants, Microsoft is spending hundreds of billions of dollars on AI data centers and chips, drawing scrutiny from investors over whether the returns will justify the staggering cost. The company, slated to report first-quarter results after markets close on Wednesday, has forecast $175 billion in capital expenditures for the 2026 calendar year.

Microsoft had 223,000 full-time employees globally as of June 30, 2026, according to its annual filing.

Shares of Microsoft, which had risen about 10% this year, were up about 1% on Monday. The development was first reported by Business Insider.

The company earlier this year offered voluntary buyouts to about 7% of its US ​workforce, or about 9,000 employees.

A Virginia judge granted bond for Miguel Alonso Maldonado Soriano, who is accused of using a sledgehammer to knock off one of the monument's heads.

A man accused of breaking a soldier's head off of the Iwo Jima statue in Quantico, Virginia, with a sledgehammer was granted bond Monday. A detective testified the suspect showed signs of mental health issues.

Miguel Alonso Maldonado Soriano, 27, was charged with felony destruction of property after allegedly vandalizing the monument with the sledgehammer on Wednesday night.

A Prince William County police detective told the court Monday that Maldonado Soriano was arrested without incident, but investigators quickly developed concerns about the suspect’s mental health.

Maldonado Soriano allegedly told detectives that he was told to desecrate the statue by famous rapper DaBaby. He also made several statements about self harm, the detective said.

The judge ultimately agreed with the defense and granted $2,500 bond for Maldonado Soriano. The judge also ordered that he be placed on GPS monitoring.

A preliminary hearing was set for January. But it's possible Maldonado Soriano could be detained by ICE and deported prior to that hearing.

Dr. Felix Weihs de Weldon carved the nine-foot limestone statue that now stands at the Marine Corps Base in Quantico over a nine-year period in the late 1940s and early 1950s after seeing photographer Joe Rosenthal's dramatic photograph of the event.

Police said Maldonado Soriano did hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of damage to the statue.

"There have been generations of promotions and commissionings and retirements and re-enlistments done in front of this iconic monument," Keil Gentry, Director of the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Triangle, said. Experts have already been consulted on repairs to the statue, which Gentry described as "likely to be challenging."

Abstract

While conventional camera-based surveillance systems and metal detectors can provide a sufficient level of security when used appropriately, they have fundamental limitations that reduce their applicability. Camera-based systems are unable to detect occluded or concealed threats and metal detectors require each person to enter through a narrow opening one at a time, leading to congestion issues and limited use in large crowds. A WiFi-based security system has the potential to be a complementary modality that is able to handle occlusions or concealment and is not hindered by strict spatial configurations. In this paper, we propose use Channel State Information estimated from WiFi-signals to detect concealed handguns. To this end we collect a dataset of aligned WiFi signals and RGB images that we call the WiFire dataset. We also propose a deep learning model called WiFireNet tailored to detect concealed handguns in WiFi signals using vision-based supervision signals. Our results show that concealed handgun detection is possible in WiFi and has promise as a complementary modality to surveillance cameras and metal detectors. We release the dataset, model and code to facilitate the further research into WiFi-based handgun detection.

Trump Offers $1 Million Reward to Anyone Who Reports Voter Fraud Upon Arrest and Conviction of Fraudsters

President Trump on Monday offered to pay $1 million to anyone who reports voter fraud upon arrest and conviction of the fraudsters.

“Anybody reporting Voter Fraud in the past Elections, or the upcoming 2026 Midterm Election, will be paid $1,000,000 upon the arrest and conviction of those that created the Fraud! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP” Trump said in a Truth Social post on Monday afternoon.

President Trump doubled down on his $1 million reward during remarks to reporters.

“I’m also going to be issuing a million dollar bonus or reward or whatever you want to call it for anybody that reports voter fraud, leading to the arrest and conviction of somebody.”

Trump’s announcement comes after Wayne Root called for a whistleblower reward fund for reporting voter fraud.

Wayne Root urged President Trump to offer $1 million each to the “first 100 Democrats to come forward who were involved in rigging and stealing the 2020 election.”

The Justice Department last week began notifying counties about election monitoring.

Harmeet Dhillion, the head of the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division said 1,000 observers will be deployed nationwide during the November midterms.

“The Civil Rights Division conducts monitoring of polling places on election day using federal observers, and as well as monitoring using Division attorneys and staff, to help assess compliance with the federal voting rights laws around the country,” the DOJ said.

“The Voting Rights Act permits federal observers to monitor procedures in polling places and at sites where ballots are counted in eligible political subdivisions. The Division determines whether federal observers are needed in an eligible jurisdiction,” the DOJ said in a press release.

“If so, the Division notifies the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) that federal observers are needed, which OPM recruits, and then, in cooperation with Division attorneys, supervises federal observers. Federal observers write reports of the activities they witness in polling places and provide those reports to the Division,” the DOJ said.

The Democrat-media complex has accused President Trump of trying to rig the midterms by deploying an army of poll observers.

President Trump is on a roll hunting down fraudsters.

Last week Trump and Vance announced a $25 million Fraud Whistleblower Incentive Program (WHIP) to reward people who successfully report government fraud.

Tips that lead to criminal charges are eligible for rewards ranging from $10,000 to $30,000 or more.

DOJ charges ex-FBI Director James Comey in new case

Former FBI Director James Comey has been charged for the third time with federal crimes according to a court filing made public Monday.

Comey is charged in the new case with knowingly communicating information related to national defense to a person not entitled to receive it.

He also is charged with conspiring with others to violate the law against sharing such information.

The criminal complaint in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C. says Comey, “through one or more co-conspirators,” directed an unnamed individual to disclose national defense information to a reporter for a national news publication.”

The complaint came to light hours after a federal judge in New York ruled that the Department of Justice had unlawfully fired Comey’s daughter, Maurene Comey, last year as an assistant U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York.

Winning: Violent Crime Plunged Nationwide During Trump’s First Year Back in Office

Crime plummeted in President Donald Trump’s first year back in office, according to a new report.

Overall, non-fatal violent crime excluding simple assault dropped 25 percent from 2024 to 2025, according to a Department of Justice news release.

The data from the Bureau of Justice Statistics’ National Crime Victimization Survey show declines in violent crime, property victimization, burglary or trespassing, and motor vehicle theft.

“This report is proof that President Trump’s ‘Make America Safe Again’ agenda is working,” Associate Attorney General Stanley Woodward said.

“Under President Trump and Attorney General Blanche, the safety of law-abiding Americans will always come first. This success reinforces our commitment to ensuring every American can live, work, and raise a family without fear,” he said.

According to the report, the rate of violent crime excluding simple assault declined 25 percent from 2024’s rate of 9.9 per 1,000 people age 12 or over to 7.4 per 1,000.

The crimes covered in this category include rape or sexual assault, robbery, and aggravated assault.

The rate of aggravated assault fell 31 percent, from 4.5 per 1,000 to 3.1 per 1,000.

The property victimization rate fell 19 percent from 138.0 per 1,000 households in 2024 to 111.2 per 1,000 in 2025.

The report noted that the rates of burglary or trespassing went down 25 percent, while other types of household theft fell 19 percent.

The rate of motor vehicle theft dropped 30 percent.

Earlier this year, FBI Director Kash Patel said that the Trump administration has overseen the “most prolific run of crime reduction in United States history,” according to Fox News.

“In 2025, according to the Uniform Crime Report, we delivered the LARGEST year to year reduction of violent crime in AMERICAN HISTORY,” Patel’s statement said.

“They happened with an administration that BACKS the BLUE and a new FBI that has been REBUILT to crush violent threats BEFORE they harm Americans,” he added.

In August, the White House said that according to FBI data, violent crime dropped 9.3 percent in 2025, “the largest annual decline on record.”
